Jigme, a young novice monk, came to a small Buddhist monastery in north-eastern Tibet, at age 17, when he got tired of school. In his third year, he saw half of the monks left the monastery for various reasons, which, in Tibetan Buddhist tradition, is not uncommon. Yet once fully ordained, a novice monk is expected to stay in the monastery for the rest of his life. A young Buddhist monk’s quest for the true value of life.
